Kanha National Park
Typical Stay
In order to ensure good sightings of tigers and other wildlife, a stay of at least three nights is recommended. The day begin with an early morning drive into the National Park in open 4wheel-drive vehicles in search of barasingha, sambar, chital, wild dog, tiger, leopard, and other wildlife. There is a picnic breakfast. Tigers are also tracked by the Park elephants, and if located guests climb on to the elephants to follow them.
Lunch is usually outdoors. In the afternoon, guests can return to the Tiger Reserve, go bird watching in the forests that surround the Camp, or – most popular of all – bathe Tara in the Banjar River. In the evening, guests relax around the campfire for drinks and dinner, and to listen to jungle calls.
A three to four night visit would include all of the above, plus walks in the jungle, visits to colourful tribal markets, relaxing massages, volleyball for the energetic, candlelit dinners and tribal dancing under the stars, and screenings of films on Kanha’s remarkable wildlife.
Kipling Camp makes every effort to tread softly in the jungle. It tries to stay in harmony with nature, a place of peace and relaxation. Many of our guests return time and again, staying for a week or more.
